Premier League Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 29
Everton and Birmingham play twice in Gameweek 29.
Captain Choices
Carlos Tevez
The Argentine forward has scored 6 goals and made 1 assist in his last 6 games including 6 bonus points. Tevez has good history in the reverse against this week’s opponents Wigan with 1 goal, 1 assist and 2 bonus points back in September.
Manchester City were clearly missing the creative spark of David Silva in the recent draw against Fulham. Silva is beginning to illustrate his quality with a goal and 2 assists in his last 2 appearances and should the Spanish midfielder be fit, Silva is a good alternative captain choice.
Samir Nasri
With injuries to Walcott, Van Persie and Fabregas, French midfielder Nasri will look to play a more advanced, free and attacking role for the Gooners who face Sunderland at the Emirates.
Fernando Torres
The Chelsea forward is a popular choice amongst fantasy managers despite his out of form displays and lack of goals in a Chelsea shirt. Torres might finally start to repay some of that £50m transfer fee this gameweek as his Chelsea side travel to Bloomfield Road to face Blackpool.
Transfer Options
Johan Djourou – 4.4m
Arsenal might be nervy at the back when they play at the Emirates following that late Carling Cup final winner. Arsenal however have actually been reasonably assured defensively keeping 6 clean sheets in their last 8 fixtures. Djourou has been a big part of their recent success at the back and is a snip at 4.4m
Nikola Zigic – 5.3m
The giant Serbian striker has turned somewhat into a cult hero for Birmingham City. Although scoring only 5 Premier League goals all season, Zigic has scored 3 goals in his last 4 Premiership appearances. Zigic of course netted in the Carling Cup final on Sunday and has a double gameweek to look forward to with West Brom at St Andrews followed by Everton at Goodison Park.
Daniel Sturridge – 5.4m
On loan Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge has been a revelation already under Owen Coyle. The young English striker has scored 4 goals in 4 games for Bolton Wanderers accumulating 9 bonus points along the way. Bolton play Aston Villa at the Reebok.
