Premier League Fantasy Football Tips – Gameweek 6

Gameweek 6 Fantasy Player Picks

GW6 (from): Hart, Krul, Kompany, Ryan Taylor, Bosingwa, Anton Ferdinand, Jose Enrique, Taarabt, Young, Arteta, Lampard, Silva, Rooney, Aguero, Van Persie

Captain Choices

Robin Van Persie (ARS)

Arsenal may have suffered their worst start for sometime, but going forward the Gunners still look more than capable of scoring. Despite just the 1 goal to his 2010/2011 Premier League campaign so far, Van Persie is still Arsenal’s most likely source of goals and the proven Dutch forward notched up an assist last time out against Blackburn. A home tie against Bolton Wanderers is one of the more favourable fixtures in Gameweek 6.

Other Contenders: Mikel Arteta, Gervinho, Theo Walcott

Wayne Rooney (MUN)

It’s hard to back against a striker in the form that Wayne Rooney is in. The England striker has scored in every fixture so far for the Premier League champions and will look to continue that run of form after being rested from the midweek League Cup tie. Rooney has racked up 9 goals in just 5 games to date, but the experience and physicality of opponents Stoke at the Britannia is a challenging environment for Manchester United’s number 10.

Other Contenders: Ashley Young, Nani

Sergio Aguero (MCI)

Sergio Aguero scored both goals in Manchester City’s 2-2 draw with Fulham last weekend to take his Premiership goals tally to 8 in just 5 games. The creative genius of David Silva behind the front line has definitely assisted the Argentine forward this season and “Kun” looks set to add to his goal haul with a home game against Everton in Gameweek 6 to look forward to. Only Rooney can better Aguero’s goals with 9 and the two are level so far this season on 9 bonus points each.

Other Contenders: David Silva, Edin Dzeko

Transfer Picks

Emmanuel Adebayor (TOT) – 8.1m

After his brace and impressive performance last time out against Liverpool, now seems a good time to transfer in Tottenham’s Emmanuel Adebayor. The former Arsenal striker also scored in the 2-0 win over Wolves before that game and looks set to be Harry Redknapp’s first choice strike partnership with Jermaine Defoe.

Anton Ferdinand (QPR) – 4.5m

QPR have now kept 3 straight clean sheets on the bounce and former Sunderland defender Anton Ferdinand has been an ever present in each game. Whilst many fantasy managers may be thumbing over Barton, Taarabt, Faurlin and Shaun Wright-Phillips as a cheap midfield option, further back Anton Ferdinand has yet to miss a minute of football and with Aston Villa next up at Loftus Road a fourth straight clean sheet is a possibility.

Mikel Arteta (ARS) – 8.2m

As expected Spanish midfielder Mikel Arteta seems the pick of Arsene Wenger’s rushed transfer activity. The former Everton player has now scored twice this season (both goals coming at Ewood Park) and managed to pick up a further bonus point last time out to take his Premier League points tally up to 20. Arteta will look to contribute further and provide the inspiration as Arsenal face Bolton at the Emirates on Saturday.
