Premier League Fantasy Football Tips – Gameweek 4

Gameweek 4 Fantasy Player Picks

GW4 (from): Given, Hart, Kompany, S Taylor, Koscielny, Baines, Warnock, Young, Walcott, Arteta, Dempsey, Silva, Van Persie, Dzeko, Rooney

Captain Choices

Robin Van Persie (ARS)

A huge match looms for Arsenal and a home game against Swansea, represents a huge opportunity for the Gunners to record their first win of the season. Van Persie showed his goalscoring touch with 4 goals against San Marino for the Netherlands and also managed a consolation strike against Manchester United last time out. The Dutch forward is more than capable of finding the net, but will have to find a way past Michel Vorm in the Swansea goal.

Other Contenders: Mikel Arteta, Theo Walcott

Wayne Rooney (MUN)

Wayne Rooney has been particularly impressive so far and the England striker has scored in every Premier League game this season including a hat trick last time out in the 8-2 demolition against Arsenal. Rooney also picked up 2 assists in that game and collectively has earned more bonus points than any other player this season. Rooney bagged a brace against Bulgaria on international duty and the partnership with summer recruit Ashley Young already looks promising.

Other Contenders: Ashley Young

Edin Dzeko (MCI)

Similar to Rooney, Edin Dzeko is another striker who has scored in each Premier League game so far this season. The Bosnian and Herzegovina forward bagged 4 goals last time out against Tottenham and looks set to feature again for Roberto Mancini’s side. With a total of 5 bonus points accrued, Dzeko looks set to continue his goalscoring exploits against Wigan on Saturday.

Other Contenders: David Silva, Sergio Aguero, Samir Nasri

Transfer Picks

Mikel Arteta (ARS) – 8.0m

Priced at 8.0m Arteta certainly represents significant value for fantasy managers. Arsenal’s new £10.0m signing  scored against Blackburn last time out in Everton colours and has already picked up 10 points in his 2 games so far this season. Arteta is also more than capable from dead ball situations and Arsenal face Swansea, Blackburn and Bolton over the next three gameweeks.

Chris Brunt (WBA) – 6.0m

At 6.0m Brunt provides fantasy managers with a differential that may prove fruitful over the next few gameweeks. Brunt has started well for the Baggies and has already picked up 10 points, despite Roy Hodgson’s tough start to the season. The pace and movement of Long up front should help the Northern Ireland international pick up a few more assists over the course of the season too.

Bryan Ruiz (FUL) – 7.0m

The £10.3m signing of forward Bryan Ruiz was a significant capture for Martin Jol. Priced at 7.0m Ruiz is significantly cheaper than team mate Dempsey at 8.5m and the former FC Twente player should find joy against a Blackburn defence that has shipped 6 goals in 3 games.
