Captain Choices

Wayne Rooney (MUN)

Rooney’s third brace in five games took the England striker’s Premier League goal tally to 20 for the season. Rooney has now scored seven goals in just five games and is clearly enjoying the return to action of England teammate Ashley Young who has made an assist in each of the Red Devils last three games. Manchester United travel to Molineux in Gameweek 29 with Wolves having conceded 15 goals in their last five games at home. Wayne Rooney picked up a brace and two bonus points in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford back in December and Rooney will be aiming to meet the target set by Sir Alex Ferguson of 40 goals this season.

Clint Dempsey (FUL)

Nine of Dempsey’s 12 goals in the Premier League this season have come at Craven Cottage and the visit of Swansea should provide the American international with plenty of opportunities in front of goal with the Welsh side conceding 24 goals away from the Liberty Stadium. Dempsey has scored six goals in Fulham’s last three home games and the goalscoring midfielder should continue that run against Swansea on Saturday.

Robin Van Persie (ARS)

The prolific Dutch forward scored his 26th goal of the season against Newcastle on Monday night to make it nine goals in just eight Premier League games. Van Persie continues to be Arsenal’s main threat, but the trip to Goodison Park will be a tough test with the Toffees having not conceded more than one goal for seven games.

Fantasy Football Transfers

Pavel Pogrebnyak (FUL) – £6.4m

The Russian forward has been in brilliant goalscoring form since his arrival from German side Stuttgart in January. Pogrebnyak has scored four goals in five games for Fulham with all four goals coming at Craven Cottage. A return to London in Gameweek 29 against Swansea should provide the Russian centre forward with an ideal opportunity to stamp his mark further in the Premiership.
