Premier League Fantasy Football Tips – Gameweek 25

Gameweek 25 Fantasy Player Picks

GW25 (from): Friedel, Vorm, Walker, Lescott, Roger Johnson, Bosingwa, Assou-Ekotto, Bale, Sessegnon, Sigurdsson, Dempsey, Silva, Rooney, Van Persie, Zamora

Captain Choices

Robin Van Persie (ARS)

The runaway leader for the Premier League Golden Boot as exclusively predicted by Sportingly Better during the pre-season, Robin Van Persie hit a hattrick during last weekend’s 7-1 demolition of relegation threatened Blackburn Rovers. Van Persie’s three goals for Arsenal along with two assists and three bonus points led to a Gameweek 24 score of 23 fantasy points and took the Dutch forward’s tally to 22 Premier League goals. Opponents Sunderland have won five out of their last six games, but Van Persie did pick up a brace in the reverse fixture back in October in a 2-1 win.

Clint Dempsey (FUL)

The most in-form midfielder in the Premier League, Clint Dempsey has now scored four goals in his last three games for the Cottagers. No other midfielder has scored more goals than the American so far this season and with Bobby Zamora having recently departed, Dempsey may be tasked with providing the goals and assists that the English striker brought to the London side. Opponents this gameweek are Stoke who have lost three on the bounce and have already shipped 22 goals already from the comfort of the Britannia Stadium.

Gareth Bale (TOT)

Tottenham’s Welsh winger has notched up 10 goals in the Premier League with a run of three goals in as many games. Only Robin Van Persie and Demba Ba have earned more bonus points this season than Gareth Bale and the pace and penetration could cause Newcastle problems with the Magpies having conceding 12 goals in their last 5 away games. With 6 of 8 assists coming at White Hart Lane, Gareth Bale could again be the creative force for Tottenham on Saturday.

Transfer Picks

Gylfi Sigurdsson (SWA) – £5.0m

The on-loan Hoffenheim midfielder  has been a revelation for Brendan Rogers since his move during the January transfer window. The former Reading player starred in the 2-1 win at West Brom last weekend with a goal, assist and three bonus points. Sigurdsson also picked up assists in Gameweek 21 and 22 and opponents Norwich have conceded an average of two goals a game and the Icelandic midfielder is a viable alternative to Scott Sinclair in the Swansea side.

Bobby Zamora (QPR) – £6.8m

QPR’s England striker picked up his first goal for the club last time out against Wolves in a 2-1 defeat to take the former Fulham striker’s tally to 6 goals this season. In his last four appearances, Zamora has scored three goals, picked up three assists and earned five bonus points. An away trip to Ewood Park where Blackburn have conceded 24 goals could provide Zamora an opportunity to extend his recent form for Mark Hughes’ side.
