Premier League Fantasy Football Tips – Gameweek 23
Gameweek 23 Fantasy Player Picks
GW23 (from): Lindegaard, Friedel, Kompany, O’Shea, Assou-Ekotto, Bosingwa, Jose Enrique, Valencia, Sessegnon, Bale, Dempsey, Silva, Rooney, Van Persie, Bent
Captain Choices
Stephane Sessegnon (SUN)
Highlighted last gameweek as a potential captain choice, Stephane Sessegnon picked up 14 fantasy points, with a goal, assist and 3 bonus points in Sunderland’s 2-0 victory over Swansea at the Stadium of Light. The Beninese midfielder is beginning to show his talent that former manager Steve Bruce highlighted at the start of the season and Sessegnon is one of the most in-form players in the Premier League currently. Four assists in his last five games along with two goals and four bonus points underlines the threat he may bring to Norwich on Wednesday.
Robin Van Persie (ARS)
Van Persie demonstrated his goalscoring touch from 2011 is still very much alive this year with a brace in the 3-2 FA Cup victory over Aston Villa on Sunday.Van Persie has scored 19 goals already this season including 3 goals in his last 4 Premier League games and the Dutch forward will hold no fear against gameweek 23 opponents Bolton Wanderers who have already shipped 25 goals at home this season.
Gareth Bale (TOT)
Gareth Bale should take to the field on Tuesday in arguably the easiest fixture in gameweek 23, where Spurs host Wigan at White Hart Lane. Bale picked up a goal last time out against Manchester City and has picked up 2 assists and 3 bonus points in Tottenham’s last three games at home. Wigan have conceded 24 goals away from the DW Stadium and the wing-play of Bale and Lennon is likely to cause Roberto Martinez and Wigan problems.
Other Contenders: Emmanuel Adebayor
Transfer Picks
Clint Dempsey (FUL) – 8.7m
Potentially a captain choice for gameweek 23, Fulham’s American midfielder brought himself to the attention of fantasy managers with three goals against Newcastle last time out. Dempsey’s hat-trick in took his tally to 9 for the season and the midfielder should find chances aplenty again against West Brom who have kept just three clean sheets all season, with only one coming on the road.
Robbie Keane (AVL) – 5.0m
Priced at just 5.0m Robbie Keane represents somewhat of a short term fantasy bargain, with the much travelled striker a proven Premier League goalscorer. Keane has immediately shown his quality with a brace against his old club Wolves in gameweek 22 and Keane will likely partner Darren Bent who should himself benefit from the Irishman’s presence in the side over the next few weeks.
