Premier League Fantasy Football Tips – Gameweek 19

Gameweek 19 Fantasy Player Picks

GW19 (from): Reina, Szczesny, Kompany, Skrtel, Huth, Vermaelen, Ashley Cole, Valencia, Nani, Bale, Mata, Silva, Rooney, Sturridge, Van Persie

Choices

Nani (MUN)

The Portuguese midfielder was replaced not long after the hour mark during last weekend’s 5-0 victory over Wigan and the Premier League’s most in-form player should be suitably fresh for the visit of Blackburn on Saturday. In his last four games, Nani has scored 3 goals and picked up 3 assists. Last season Manchester United beat Blackburn 7-1, with Nani on the scoresheet and Steve Kean’s side are in all kinds of trouble this season having already conceded 20 goals on the road.

Other Contenders: Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov, Antonio Valencia

Robin Van Persie (ARS)

A familiar captain choice in 2011, Robin Van Persie continues to top the  forwards form table. The Dutch striker has 16 goals this season alone and opponents QPR will have their work cut out to stop the irrepressible Van Persie on Saturday. QPR  have not kept a clean sheet since October and with Arsenal’s next top goalscorer some 12 goals behind, Van Persie again looks the obvious choice in Gameweek 19.

Other Contenders: Gervinho, Thomas Vermaelen

Transfer Picks

Antonio Valencia (MUN) – 7.9m

Used as a makeshift full back last time out against Wigan, the Ecuadorian winger amassed an impressive 13 fantasy points with a goal, an assist and a couple of bonus points. Valencia is in superb form currently racking up 6 assists and 5 bonus points in his last 4 games for the club. Valencia looks likely to start on Saturday whether at full back or on the wing and at 7.9m represents a good differential with only 2.4% of fantasy managers selecting the Manchester United midfielder.

Robert Huth (STO) – 5.6m

Stoke’s towering German defender should have no problems when the Potters welcome Wigan to the Britannia Stadium, who have scored just 6 goals on the road all season. Usually amongst the goals, Huth has scored just once so far this season but opponents Wigan come off the back of a 5-0 defeat by Manchester United and could be susceptible at the back once again.

Daniel Sturridge (CHE) – 7.4m

Chelsea’s top goalscorer with 9 goals already this season, Sturridge has actually scored 6 of these away from Stamford Bridge.  The English forward was brought off not long after the hour mark in Gameweek 18 and Sturridge should be suitably refreshed for the visit of Aston Villa, should Andre Villas-Boas continue to pick the pacey forward.
