Premier League Fantasy Football Tips – Gameweek 18

Gameweek 18 Fantasy Player Picks

GW18 (from): Reina, Vorm, Kompany, Skrtel, Evans, Huth, Cole, Sinclair, Etherington, Nani, Mata, Silva, Rooney, Sturridge, Van Persie

Choices

Daniel Sturridge (CHE)

Daniel Sturridge is currently the most in-form striker in the Premier League. The English forward has hit 5 goals in 6 games, with 2 assists and a further 8 bonus points during that time. Sturridge has quite rightly earned his place in the Chelsea set-up and has played regularly for the Blues over the last couple of months. Opponents Fulham let in 5 in Gameweek 17 and Chelsea and Sturridge will be hoping for a similarly inept display from the Cottagers.

Other Contenders: Juan Mata

Wayne Rooney (MUN)

Rooney has now scored in three consecutive games for Manchester United and the visit of Wigan Athletic at Old Trafford, on paper will not likely threaten the England forward from extending that run. Wigan have conceded 14 goals on their travels and Rooney has not only picked up goals but also bonus points in each of his last three appearances for the Red Devils; a sign of the player returning to form.

Other Contenders: Nani

Robin Van Persie (ARS)

Last season Van Persie hit a brace against Wolves as the Gunners ended the Premier League match victors by two goals to nil. Arsenal’s Dutch forward has been in red-hot form this season and continued his fine run with a goal, an assist and a further 3 bonus points against Aston Villa back in Gameweek 17. Opponents Wolves have already conceded 17 goals away from home so far this season.

Other Contenders: Theo Walcott, Thomas Vermaelen

Transfer Picks

Jonny Evans (MUN) – 4.6m

With Vidic ruled out for the season, Ferdinand in and out of the side with injuries and Phil Jones being favoured further upfield, Northern Irish defender Jonny Evans provides excellent value for fantasy managers, due to the shortage at centre half for United this season. Evans has played the full 90 minutes for each of the last 3 games, where Manchester United have kept 2 clean sheets along the way.

Michel Vorm (SWA) – 5.1m

No goalkeeper has kept more clean sheets this season than Swansea’s Michel Vorm. The Dutch goalkeeper has been arguably one of the signings of the season and Vorm has picked up 2 clean sheets in the Swans last 3 games. At the Liberty Stadium Vorm has made 6 shut outs and newly promoted QPR are the visitors for Brendan Rogers side in Gameweek 18.
