Premier League Fantasy Football Tips – Gameweek 13

Gameweek 13 Fantasy Player Picks

GW13 (from): de Gea, Vorm, Rangel, Jones, Brown, Terry, Santos, Walcott, Lampard, Walters, Bale, Silva, Van Persie, Hernandez, Adebayor

Captain Choices

Robin Van Persie (ARS)

Top of the list again this gameweek  is the irrepressible Robin Van Persie. With his match winning brace against Norwich last time out, Van Persie has now scored 10 goals in 5 Premier League games, that’s not including Europe, where the Dutchman bagged another match winning brace against Dortmund in midweek. Quite deservedly Van Persie has picked up 11 bonus points in that run and the visit of Fulham to the Emirates despite only conceding 6 goals in 6 away games shouldn’t threaten Van Persie extending his astonishing run in 2011.

Other Contenders: Theo Walcott, Gervinho

Javier Hernandez (MUN)

Three goals in his last five Premier League appearances leaves Chicharito as the most in form choice for the champions in Gameweek 13. Along with 10 bonus points and an assist and with doubts over the fitness of Wayne Rooney, the Mexican will be charged with trying to breech the Newcastle rearguard, which holds the joint best defensive record in the division.

Other Contenders: Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov, Nani

Frank Lampard (CHE)

Chelsea’s England midfielder is only 3 points behind David Silva as the top scoring midfielder and has picked up 2 goals in his last 3 Premier League matches. Along with an assist and 3 bonus points, Lampard has picked up 23 points in that run and Chelsea’s ever present midfielder will want to help resuscitate the clubs increasingly alarming slump. The visit of Wolves who have shipped 10 goals away from Molineux, provide Lampard and Andre Villas-Boas an ideal opportunity to get back on track.

Other Contenders: Daniel Sturridge, John Terry, Juan Mata

Transfer Picks

Gareth Bale (TOT) – 8.4m

Once again we are highlighting Tottenham’s left-sided Welshman Gareth Bale who carried on his recent form with two assists and 2 bonus points on Monday night against Aston Villa. With West Brom, Bolton, Stoke and Sunderland the next four opponents for Spurs, Bale looks a sound investment for the coming weeks. Bale is also second only to Robin Van Persie in the fantasy form chart.

Theo Walcott (ARS) – 8.9m

Overshadowed by team-mate Robin Van Persie, Arsenal’s Theo Walcott has also played his way into decent form of late. One goal, two bonus points and two assists in three games leaves England’s wide-man in good and consistent form going into Gameweek 13. With less than 4% of managers selecting Walcott, Theo could prove to be a good differential.

Phil Jones (MUN) – 6.3m

Almost one in five fantasy managers now have Manchester United’s Phil Jones in their squad and the England international has been ever-present this season for Sir Alex Ferguson starting over 80% of matches. Chris Smalling and Rafael are not too far away from a return but the form and versatility of Jones should see the former Blackburn defender maintain his place in the side.
