Gameweek 11 Fantasy Player Picks
GW11 (from): Reina, de Gea, Richards, R Taylor, Evra, Santos, Jose Enrique, Adam, Van der Vaart, Walcott, Mata, Silva, Suarez, Van Persie, Ba
Captain Choices
Robin Van Persie (ARS)
Quite simply the most in-form player in the Premier League. Dutchman Robin Van Persie is in devastating form after picking up a hat trick against Chelsea last time out and many fantasy managers have been left trying to figure out how to get Arsenal’s talisman in their side. Van Persie has bagged 9 goals in his last 5 games, including 1 assist and 9 bonus points and has also scored against opponents West Brom in the last Premier League meeting between the two sides at the Hawthorns back in March.
Other Contenders: Gervinho
Van der Vaart (TOT)
The goal against QPR in Gameweek 10 means that Rafael Van der Vaart has now scored in five consecutive games for Spurs. Tottenham’s lack of priority in the Europa League this season would suggest that Van der Vaart will be suitably rested for Sunday’s encounter against Fulham at Craven Cottage. The Dutch midfielder, who is also Tottenham’s penalty taker, has now amassed 53 points in just 5 games and Fulham will have to recreate their historically good home record to keep Van der Vaart at bay.
Other Contenders: Gareth Bale, Emmanuel Adebayor
David Silva (MCI)
With Roberto Mancini heavily rotating his front line, one of the more ever present players in the Manchester City line up is Spanish midfielder David Silva. Silva has been in good form and picked up an assist last time out against Wolves. Together with the goal, assist and 2 bonus points in the previous gameweek, Silva has now picked up 17 points in the last two gameweeks.
Other Contenders: Edin Dzeko, Mario Balotelli, Sergio Aguero
Transfer Picks
Demba Ba (NEW) – 6.5m
Demba Ba picked up his second hat trick of the season on Monday night and the three goals against Stoke took the Senegalese striker’s tally to 8 goals in 5 games. Ba seems to be Alan Pardew’s star turn and the 9 bonus points colleceted recently has left Ba only 14 points behind top fantasy scorer Robin Van Persie. Everton have conceded 6 goals away from Goodison Park and Demba Ba is the man in form for the Magpies.
Gervinho (ARS) – 8.9m
The assist against Chelsea last time out means it is now 4 assists in Arsenal’s last 3 games and coupled with a goal and 3 bonus points, the Ivorian striker has now picked up 25 points since Gameweek 8. Selected by only 1.5% of fantasy managers, Gervinho has largely gone unnoticed this season due to Robin Van Persie’s exploits, but could continue the recent points haul against West Brom who have already shipped 8 away goals this season.
