Tottenham’s trip to Old Trafford kicks off the new Premier League season and with renewed optimism surrounding Louis Van Gaal’s second season in Manchester; the Red Devils look well priced to pick up all three points.

Premier League Betting Tips

Manchester United (1.61) v Tottenham (5.50); Draw (3.80)

The new Premier League season kicks-off this weekend, with Manchester United hosting Tottenham in the lunchtime game on Saturday.

Much has been made of Louis Van Gaal’s signings this summer and he’s brought a wealth of European talent into the club.

The centre of midfield has been an area that has needed strengthening for some time now and both Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger will improve the Red Devils ball retention and control of games.

Forward Memphis Depay has appeared to have forged an early understanding with Wayne Rooney in the attacking third and despite Tottenham investing the majority of their money in defence with Toby Alderweireld, Kieran Trippier and Mattias Wimmer, the absence of Hugo Lloris in goal on Saturday could prove a significant enough blow for the visitors.

Opponents Tottenham look to be fast becoming increasingly reliant on striker Harry Kane, with the likes of forwards Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor all but moved on.

Manchester United appear to be a lot more comfortable a year on under Louis Van Gaal’s reign and with the home crowd confident of a better campaign this time around, expect the hosts to bag all three points in the opening game of the season.

Chelsea (1.33) v Swansea (9.00); Draw (5.00)

Chelsea’s defeat to Arsenal in the Community Shield last weekend may well have disgruntled Jose Mourinho, who relinquished a quite formidable record over Arsene Wenger in the process.

The 1-0 defeat at Wembley did much to highlight how thin the Blues are up front without focal point Diego Costa, but Mourinho and the squad will look to keep the faith with loanee Radamel Falcao this term.

Chelsea’s transfer activity has been relatively quiet so far and Jose Mourinho’s belief in his players and squad will do much to further galvanise the ranks at Stamford Bridge.

Talisman Eden Hazard has picked up where he left off last season with exquisite performances during pre-season and much of Chelsea’s success both domestically and in Europe will hinge upon the Belgium playmaker.

Opponents Swansea enjoyed a good campaign under Garry Monk last time around and the Swans arrivals into the club have been quite measured. The free transfer signing of Marseille midfielder Andre Ayew has the potential to make a big impact in the Premier League this year, but the visitors will be weary of their last trip to Stamford Bridge, after being on the end of a 5-0 defeat against the champions last time around.

Chelsea will be eager to illustrate their solidity after their recent defeat to Arsenal in the Community Shield, but the visitors look well priced to breach the home side’s formidable rearguard this weekend.
