Premier League Betting Tips 1st & 2nd October

Bolton’s difficult fixture run continues as Andre Villas-Boas’ Chelsea side travel to the Reebok stadium. Owen Coyle was dealt a major blow to his side with the news that American midfielder Stuart Holden will be sidelined for 6 months, whilst Ivan Klasnic and Wheater are suspended for the game and Jussi Jaaskelainen is a doubt, which may not be the worst news for Trotters fans given his shambolic start to the season.

Every single Bolton Wanderers game in the Premier League this season has gone over 2.5 goals and the attacking talent of Chelsea should pose Bolton problems at the back. Juan Mata has settled in well and has slotted perfectly into manager Andre Villas-Boas’ set up and formation. Fernando Torres is suspended, which gives the likes of Drogba, Anelka, Sturridge and Lukaku chance to press their claims of more game time and impress the talented Portuguese coach.

It will be interesting to see how Manchester City bounce back after both the defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League and Carlos Tevez’s alleged refusal to take to the field.

Opponents Blackburn failed to build on their 4-3 win over Arsenal a fortnight ago and slumped to a 3-1 defeat against Newcastle last weekend. Blackburn are likely to be without defensive trio Scott Dann, Gael Givet and Ryan Nelsen, whilst Martin Olsson is suspended; not ideal for Steve Kean whose side has already conceded 13 goals this season.

Manchester City have won 5 out of 6 games so far this term and Silva and Aguero are in outstanding form for Roberto Mancini’s side. With defensive worries for Blackburn the odds on overs looks appealing for Saturday’s encounter.
