Premier League Bets – 26-27 September

Chelsea’s 2-0 victory over Arsenal last weekend left the column with a 0.30 points profit from level stakes, as Jose Mourinho again came out on top against Arsene Wenger.

Our Premier League tips this week come from St James Park as rock-bottom Newcastle host Chelsea and White Hart Lane as Spurs host Premier League leaders Manchester City.

Premier League Betting Tips

Tottenham (4.20) v Manchester City (1.90); Draw (3.80)

Manchester City will be looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League after suffering their first defeat of the season surprisingly to West Ham. They’ll be looking to fare much better against another opposition from London having already faced Watford, Crystal Palace and West Ham so far this season.

Tottenham have struggled evidently this season and have had to rely on Son Heung-Min who has scored three of their last four goals including the winner against Crystal Palace at White Hart Lane last weekend. The South Korean international arrived from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer for £22million and his goals have eased the pressure on Harry Kane who has yet to score for his club this season.

Tottenham are extremely favourable opposition for Manuel Pellegrini’s side, having won the last four meetings. That including three demolition jobs with the scores of 6-0, 5-1 and 4-1 in City’s favour. Their most recent meeting was in May and City came away from Tottenham with a 1-0 victory thanks to a Sergio Aguero strike.

The Argentinean striker ended a goal drought midweek when he put Sunderland to the sword in the Capital One Cup. His goal secured a 4-0 score line at half time but they took their foot off the gas in the second half and eventually ran out 4-1 winners.

Manchester City will want to avoid back-to-back Premier League defeats and Tottenham haven’t quite been firing on all cylinders as of late.

Newcastle (5.75) v Chelsea (1.65); Draw (4.10)

Things have gone from bad to worse for Steve McLaren’s side. Winless in five Premier League games, a visit from newcomers Watford looked to be the perfect side for them to get McLaren’s debut league win as Newcastle manager but they slumped to a 2-1 defeat.

Three defeats on the bounce and Chelsea are up next at St.James Park. Jose Mourinho’s men were under huge pressure after consecutive defeats to Crystal Palace and Everton but a confidence boosting win over Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Champions League paid dividends as they went on to beat Arsenal 2-0 last Saturday with goals from Kurt Zouma and Eden Hazard.

Hazard hasn’t been half the player of his high standards but Mourinho will be desperately hoping his injury time goal might spark some life into the Belgian playmaker. John Terry has found himself on the substitute’s bench as of late and he could be set to watch Gary Cahill and Zouma from the side lines once again.

Despite Chelsea sitting in 15th, their win over Arsenal will be the start of a winning run.
