Premier League Bets – 19-20 September
Manchester United’s win against Liverpool meant our Premier League bets practically wiped their face last week.
Our Premier League tips this week come from Stamford Bridge as Chelsea look to address their poor start to the season and Dean Court as struggling Sunderland take on Bournemouth.
Premier League Betting Tips
Chelsea (2.30) v Arsenal (3.00); Draw (3.40)
Jose Mourinho has found himself under some pressure for the first time in his second reign as Chelsea manager, but some of his critics were silenced with a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Champions League midweek.
Some will only say that it was against an average opposition but Chelsea were the only English side to take any points in the Champions League, which included Arsenal’s shocking 2-1 defeat to Dinamo Zagreb.
Prior to Zagreb’s win, the Gunners had been winless in 15 Champions League games but an Olivier Giroud red card compounded their misery after Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain earlier scored an own goal.
Arsene Wenger will be very frustrated at Giroud’s performance in Croatia and may elect to start Theo Walcott ahead of the Frenchman. Per Mertesacker is still a serious doubt and Gabriel may well partner Laurent Koscielny at the back once again.
Hosts Chelsea are clearly sitting in a position which won’t reflect where they’ll be at the end of the season, but they’re already 11 points off Manchester City which is a massive concern to their title defence.
Chelsea having won four of their previous five meetings at Stamford Bridge and the clubs midweek performance may have been the starting point of their turn around which spells trouble for Arsenal.

Chelsea to win @2.30
Bournemouth (1.61) v Sunderland (5.50); Draw (3.80)
Both sides were tipped for relegation and neither have particularly showed any consistent signs that they have a chance of reaching a safe mid-table position so far this season.
Bournemouth gained a creditable 4-3 victory at West Ham, but have since gained just one point from games against Leicester and Norwich, with manager Eddie Howe not holding back in labelling their performance against Norwich as their worst this season.
Sunderland were unlucky not to take at least a point against Tottenham last weekend as they were undone by a Ryan Mason goal deep into the second half.
Dick Advocaat must be slightly regretting his decision to stay another season at Sunderland as they’ve managed two draws and four defeats in their opening 6 league games so far.
Five of Sunderland’s six games this season have seen both sides find the net and given their poor defensive displays at present, another BTTS bet could well be on the cards.
