Midweek Champions League Betting Tip

Genk came through two qualification rounds in the Champions League to qualify for the group stage after overcoming Partizan Belgrade and Israeli side Maccabi Haifa after a penalty shoot out. The Belgium champions have been less than impressive in the Pro League this season, winning only 2 out of 6 games so far. A number of key personnel have left the Cristal Arena over the summer and to make matters worse talented midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is sidelined with a broken leg.

Valencia made it 2 wins out of 2 with a solid 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid last time out at the Mestalla. In Roberto Soldado, Valencia have an emerging striker in good form with 4 goals scored in his side’s opening two games. Juan Mata, Joaquin and Manuel Fernandes have all departed over the summer with Parejo, Piatti and Ruiz amongst the arrivals tasked with their replacement. With Genk less than impressive through qualification and in the league, Valencia should continue their winning streak and secure a vital 3 points in the opening Group E clash.
