Manchester City v Chelsea – FA Cup Betting Tips

Sportingly Better picks out the best value football tips this weekend as Manchester City host Chelsea in the FA Cup.

Weekend Football Tips

Manchester City (2.20) v Chelsea (3.40); Draw (3.60)

Two of the most in-form sides in the FA Cup come to blows on Saturday evening, as Manchester City host Chelsea.

The Citizens have won 12 of their last 15 matches in this competition, whilst Chelsea have lost just one of their last 32 matches in this competition, but the hosts remain strong favourites this weekend, despite Jose Mourinho’s success at the Etihad Stadium earlier in the month.

The Blues remain the side with value at present after a 12 match unbeaten run in all competitions, but injury to skipper John Terry will be a blow for the visitors, with the defender’s form prompting a case to return to the England fold.

Chelsea will be buoyed by home and away victories in the Premier League over the Citizens, but another tactical display from Mourinho’s growing side looks likely, with under 2.5 goals a consideration at evens.

Fernando Torres and Mark Schwarzer should continue their starts in this competition, but it is the form of playmaker Eden Hazard that has enveloped the Blues trophy charge this season.

Hosts Manchester City will be the fresher of the two sides after seeing Tuesday’s midweek game with Sunderland called off, so the unexpected break may influence Manuel Pellegrini’s selection somewhat.

Top scorer Sergio Aguero remains sidelined, but Montenegrin forward Stevan Jovetic may get a rare start up front after recently returning from a long-term injury.

The Citizens have not scored in over three hours of football, but the hosts pursuit of goals may have to continue given Chelsea’s defensive class of late.

Visitors Chelsea have already beaten Manchester City twice in the Premier League this season and that head-to-head advantage should see Jose Mourinho’s side continue the Blues’ fine recent record in this competition.
