Manchester City will be looking to return to the top of the Premier League table, with title challengers Chelsea the visitors to the Etihad Stadium on Monday night.
The Citizens have won all 11 of their encounters at home this season scoring an impressive 42 goals, but the hamstring injury suffered by top scorer Sergio Aguero will undoubtedly be a blow for Manuel Pellegrini’s side tonight.
The hosts have scored a colossal 115 goals from just 37 games in all competitions this term, but visitors Chelsea are likely to be a much tougher side to break down after keeping clean sheets in five of their last seven matches in the Premier League.
January signing Nemanja Matic should get the nod ahead of Frank Lampard alongside Ramires in the double pivot for this encounter, with the in-form trio of Oscar, Eden Hazard and Willian supporting Samuel Eto’o in attack.
Chelsea have managed to score two or more goals in five of their last six games on the road, but the Blues most likely threat tonight is likely to come through the likes of Hazard and Willian running at pace at the Manchester City defence.
Over 2.5 goals (1.75) and both teams to score (1.66) have paid out in each of the last four encounters between the two sides, but Chelsea’s defensive solidity has often showed in the big games, including goalless draws at Old Trafford and the Emirates Stadium this season.
Manchester City have won each of their last four meetings against Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium, but after securing a 2-1 victory at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season, expect the Premier League’s tightest defence to keep their free-scoring hosts at arms length tonight.
