Next Manager Betting – England

A largely uninspiring win against Malta in Gareth Southgate’s first game in charge, may not have won many fans over, but the interim manager remains the overwhelming favourite to take the Three Lions hot seat.

Sportingly Better analyses the frontrunners in the next manager betting market with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger also in the frame.

Next Manager Betting

Gareth Southgate

The current favourite at (1.62) with Sky Bet, the caretaker’s principles will largely focus on his faith with England’s youngsters, following his step-up from the England U21 scene.

The likes of Eric Dier, John Stones, Dele Alli, Luke Shaw, Jesse Lingard and even Marcus Rashford are all likely to see game time over the next three games, as Southgate looks to find his feet and playing style over the coming months.

The consensus from St George’s Park remains that the position is Southgate’s to lose, with Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger the aspirational choice from the FA hierarchy.

Southgate’s managerial credentials may come into scrutiny even further if England stutter or produce an abject display away at Slovenia on Tuesday given his other managerial stint at Middlesbrough saw the club end their then 11-year stay in the Premier League.

Arsene Wenger

Arsenal’s uplift in form and performance against Chelsea recently is likely to see Wenger continue his love affair with the Gunners until at least the end of the season when his contract is set to expire.

The north London side have yet to decide on the future of their coach, but given a lack of viable alternatives now or at the end of the season a continue period of stability over silverware may see Arsene Wenger bag at least another two years at the Emirates Stadium.

Wenger has gone more than 20 years without a break in his Arsenal contracts and the clubs run of form, may see the French manager outlast Southgate’s next three qualifiers for England to at least finish his stay at Arsenal until the end of the season.

Ralf Rangnick

Still currently the third favourite for the England hot seat at (5.00) with sports betting sites at the casino db, current RB Leipzig director Ralf Rangnick is no stranger to a change in culture, after largely being credited to a pressing style of football to the Bundesliga.

Rangnick’s CV includes multiple promotions in the Bundesliga as well as a Champions League semi-final with Schalke more recently, but the manager’s most recent directorships with RB Salzburg in Austria and RB Leipzig in Germany are likely to see any movement to the England manager’s role as a doubtful proposition.

Verdict

Although Arsene Wenger remains the FA’s desire choice, the manager’s loyalty to Arsenal and lack of separation see’s the current caretaker manager Gareth Southgate as the clear market leader in the betting markets and the former England international looks poised to take the hot seat at Wembley on a more permanent basis.
