Fantasy Football Tips – Gameweek 37

Sunderland’s Connor Wickham was the highest point scorer in Gameweek 36, after grabbing two goals in a 4-0 victory over relegation rivals Cardiff.

Elsewhere Juan Mata and Wayne Rooney both scored twice, as Ryan Giggs led Manchester United to a comfortable win against Norwich and Yaya Toure put in another dominating performance as Manchester City kept up the pressure on league leaders Liverpool.

Sportingly Better picks out the best fantasy football tips for Gameweek 37, as Everton host Manchester City.

Aston Villa, Hull, Manchester City, Manchester United, Sunderland and West Brom all play twice during Gameweek 37.

Captain Choices

Sergio Aguero (MCI)

Sergio Aguero will be looking to move Manchester City closer towards another end-of-season title showdown, after the Citizens picked up a priceless win at Selhurst Park.

The Argentina international scored one and made another in the reverse fixture against Everton earlier in the season, but persistent injuries have curtailed much of the striker’s efforts since Christmas, after scoring 13 goals in 13 appearances at the start of the campaign.

Only Crystal Palace and Sunderland have won at Goodison Park this term, but Aguero’s fight to form and fitness should just about carry Manuel Pellegrini’s side to the wire this year.

Wayne Rooney (MUN)

Wayne Rooney’s first half curling effort got Ryan Giggs’ reign off to the perfect start last weekend, as Manchester United beat Norwich 4-0 at Old Trafford.

The England international continues to close in on a 20-goal haul for his club and despite the imminent return of Robin Van Persie, Rooney should retain his role up front ahead of Juan Mata and Danny Welbeck in attack.

Rooney has form already against Hull this season after scoring one and making another during Manchester United’s 3-2 victory at the KC Stadium and the club’s leading goalscorer will be out to prove that the Red Devils slim chances of Europa League football remain intact.

Transfer Tips

Juan Mata (MUN) – £9.8m

Juan Mata will be looking to force his way into Ryan Giggs’ starting line-up, after coming off the bench and scoring twice during Manchester United’s 4-0 win over Norwich.

The Premier League’s most in-form player has scored five goals in his last four appearances for the club, whilst two assists and seven bonus points highlights the danger that the Spain international will pose to the Black Cats on Saturday.

Opponents Sunderland have kept just one clean sheet in their last seven games in the Premier League and Manchester United’s club record signing will be eager to prove his merit to the Red Devils interim manager this weekend.

Connor Wickham (SUN) – £4.7m

Connor Wickham’s end-of-season form for Sunderland showed no sign of stopping, as the striker scored twice during a 4-0 victory over Cardiff.

Recalled from a loan-spell at Leeds, Wickham has scored five goals in just three appearances for the Black Cats, whilst goals against both Manchester City and Chelsea in recent weeks have led to growing acknowledgements of the player’s pedigree at this level.

Sunderland are boosted by their game in hand this gameweek and the powerful English striker looks a suitable third-striker option as Gus Poyet’s side continue to mount their escape from the Premier League drop zone.
