Fantasy Football Tips – Gameweek 27

Tottenham’s Emmanuel Adebayor was the highest point scorer in Gameweek 26, after scoring a brace during Tottenham’s comprehensive 4-0 win at St James’ Park.

Elsewhere Daniel Sturridge scored for the sixth game in a row as Liverpool snatched a late victory at Fulham and James Collins scored his first goal of the season as West Ham maintained their good run of form in the Premier League.

Sportingly Better picks out the best fantasy football tips for Gameweek 27, as Chelsea host Everton.

Captain Choices

Daniel Sturridge (LIV)

Daniel Sturridge scored for the sixth match in a row, as Liverpool moved back into the Premier League title race.

The England international has overshadowed strike partner Luis Suarez in recent weeks, with the Uruguayan striker recently admitting his fear of picking up an injury ahead of the World Cup in the summer.

Sturridge found the net against Gameweek 27 opponents Swansea back in September and the English striker continues to show his goalscoring pedigree after scoring in all but three appearances this term.

Opponents Swansea have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last 10 matches away from home in the league and the Premiership’s most in-form player looks poised to continue his fine scoring record in 2014.

Emmanuel Adebayor (TOT)

Emmanuel Adebayor scored for the second match in a row, as Tottenham comfortably beat Newcastle at St James’ Park.

The Togan striker has been instilled as Tim Sherwood’s number one striker since his appointment and that confidence has seen the former Arsenal and Manchester City net eight goals in just 10 Premier League appearances.

Adebyaor has found more favour away from White Hart Lane with seven of those strikes and the trip to Carrow Road, so this weekend’s clash in East Anglia may be more preferred.

Opponents Norwich have kept clean sheets in each of their last three matches at home, but Tottenham’s pursuit of Champions League football may see Adebayor staying in amongst the goals.

Transfer Tips

Shane Long (HUL) – £5.7m

Shane Long was unlucky not to score for the third match in a row, as the Irish striker struck the post with a header against Southampton last time out.

The Republic of Ireland international was cup-tied during Hull’s 1-1 draw leaving the energetic forward suitably refreshed for the trip to the Cardiff City Stadium.

Opponents Cardiff have kept just one clean sheet in their last 10 games in the Premier League and Steve Bruce’s January acquisition will be hopeful of better fortune for the Tigers this weekend.

Adam Lallana (SOU) – £8.0m

Highlighted in last week’s fantasy football tips, Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana continued his fine run of form for the Saints by picking up his eighth assist of the season as Mauricio Pochettino’s side continued their current unbeaten run.

Lallana looks set to be called up to Roy Hodgson’s England squad next month for the friendly against Denmark, with the player currently the second most in-form midfielder in the Premier League.

Opponents West Ham have not conceded a goal in over 360 minutes of football but Southampton’s leading talisman could cause the resurgent Hammers problems this weekend.
