Fantasy Football Tips – Gameweek 22

Sunderland’s Adam Johnson was the highest point scorer in Gameweek 21, after scoring a hat-trick during the Black Cats 4-1 win over Fulham.

Elsewhere Luis Suarez scored his 20th and 21st goals of the season as Liverpool beat Stoke and Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere continued to show signs of improvement by grabbing the opening goal in a 2-1 win at Villa Park.

Sportingly Better picks out the best fantasy football tips for Gameweek 22, as Chelsea host Manchester United.

Captain Choices

Luis Suarez (LIV)

Luis Suarez was on hand to score twice in a 5-3 victory at the Britannia Stadium, as Liverpool moved to within five points of leaders Manchester City.

The Uruguay international remains the most in-form player in the Premier League and the return of strike partner Daniel Sturridge looks set to reignite both the player’s and the club’s fortunes moving into the business end of the season.

Suarez’s goalscoring record at Anfield has been relentless in the Premier League this season, scoring 15 goals in just seven home games and the Kop are likely to continue to encourage their star striker again this weekend.

Opponents Aston Villa have kept just one clean sheet in their last eight games in the league and Suarez’s imperious surge for the Golden Boot looks set to continue on Saturday.

Sergio Aguero (MCI)

Sergio Aguero scored within a minute of returning from injury, as Manchester City thrashed Blackburn 5-0 in an FA Cup replay on Wednesday.

The Argentinean forward has missed the last five gameweeks in the Premier League and although the striker featured for over 20 minutes during the week, coach Manuel Pellegrini may decide to introduce the club’s top scorer from the bench once again.

Opponents Cardiff have conceded two or more goals in each of their last five games in the Premier League and the free-scoring Citizens look on course for another dominating display at the Etihad Stadium.

Transfer Tips

Ashley Cole (CHE) – £6.0m

Ashley Cole continued his good run of form since returning to the first team, assisting Eden Hazard with a deft flick during Chelsea’s 2-0 win away at Hull.

The England left-back has collected clean sheet points in each of his last five games in the Premier League, pressing claims that he is due a contract renewal before the end of the season.

Opponents Manchester United will again be without first-choice strikers Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney, leaving the Blues targeting a shut-out against their ailing rivals on Sunday.

Adam Lallana (SOU) – £7.5m

Southampton recorded only their second win in 10 games, as Adam Lallana struck against West Brom in the only goal of the game.

The England international remains in good form for the Saints scoring twice and picking up three assists in his last five starts in the Premier League.

Opponents Sunderland have kept just two clean sheets at the Stadium of Light this season and Southampton’s in-form midfielder will be hoping to turn matters back on to the field after changes at boardroom level this week.

Christian Eriksen (TOT) – £7.3m

Christian Eriksen’s powerful shot in the second half opened the scoring, as Tottenham ran out 2-0 winners against Crystal Palace at White Hart Lane.

The Danish playmaker has been pushed out wide on the left by new Spurs coach Tim Sherwood, a move that has seen Eriksen score three goals in his last four games in the Premier League.

Opponents Swansea have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last seven matches in the league and the form of Eriksen in midfield could spell danger for the out of form hosts this weekend.
