Accumulator Tips
QPR (1.80) v Sheffield Wednesday (4.75); Draw (3.75)
QPR host Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, with the Hoops eager to bounce straight back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
Harry Redknapp has begun to reshape his Championship side at Loftus Road over the summer, with the signings of Danny Simpson, Richard Dunne, Karl Henry and Charlie Austin adding some much needed drive and desire into the squad.
Visitors Sheffield Wednesday finished just four points above the Championship relegation zone last term, with Dave Jones’ side finishing the season by winning just one of their last five games.
A positive start in the league will be crucial to QPR’s hopes this time around and the Hoops should record all three points on Saturday, with new signing Charlie Austin thriving at this level.
Accumulator Bet 1
QPR to win @1.83
Peterborough (2.05) v Swindon (3.80); Draw (3.60)
Darren Ferguson’s Peterborough side will be looking to bounce back straight to the Championship this year, but the Posh will have to do without Dwight Gayle, after the striker secured a big money switch to Premier League side Crystal Palace.
Peterborough were big scorers in this division under Ferguson two years ago and the arrival of Britt Assombalonga for a club record fee from Watford could help the club reignite their goalscoring touch in this division.
Opponents Swindon have drafted in a raft of youngsters on loan from Tottenham, but the Robins find themselves without a manager following Paolo Di Canio’s switch to Sunderland and Kevin McDonald’s decision to leave the club last month.
Thirteen goals have been scored at London Road in the last two meetings between these two sides and Peterborough’s League One campaign should kick off with a bang on Saturday.
Accumulator Bet 2
Over 2.5 goals (Peterborough v Swindon) @1.75
Fleetwood Town (1.66) v Dagenham and Redbridge (5.75); Draw (4.00)
Ambitious League Two side Fleetwood Town will be hoping to continue their ascent up the Football League ladder when they kick-off against Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday.
The Cod Army have recruited well over the summer and have added further strength to their backline under manager Graham Alexander. Fleetwood recorded the second highest number of clean sheets in League Two last season and the Lancashire club will likely be amongst the contenders for promotion this season.
Opponents Dagenham and Redbridge will be without manager John Still for the first time in nine years, so it is Wayne Burnett who will be charged with lifting the London club away from the drop zone this term.
Fleetwood striker Ryan Crowther has looked good during pre-season and the hosts should see their 2013/2014 league campaign get off to a flyer with a win on Saturday.
Accumulator Bet 3
Fleetwood Town to win @1.66
Betting Accumulator Odds – 5.24 (wins for QPR and Fleetwood and over three goals in the League One match between Peterborough and Swindon)
