Fantasy Football Tips – Gameweek 8

Manchester United moved up to fourth place with a 2-1 victory over Everton two weeks ago, whilst Chelsea maintained their position at the top of the table with a 2-0 win over Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.

Elsewhere QPR suffered another defeat to remain bottom of the Premier League.

Sportingly Better picks out the best fantasy football tips for Gameweek 8, as Manchester City host Spurs.

Captain Choices

Diego Costa (CHE)

Diego Costa’s ninth goal of the season helped Chelsea to a 2-0 win over Arsenal, with former Gunner Cesc Fabregas providing a sublime slide-rule pass for the goal.

Costa has scored nine goals in just seven league games and the former Atletico Madrid striker has only failed to score against Manchester City so far this season.

Despite a persistent hamstring problem, Costa played in both matches for Spain during the international break, but Jose Mourinho looks set to still start the striker, with an early withdrawal an option.

Opponents Crystal Palace have conceded two or more goals in eight of their last 10 matches in the league and the Premier League’s leading marksman should continue to fire the goals for his new club.

Sergio Aguero (MCI)

Sergio Aguero’s late strike at Villa Park ensured Manchester City maintained on the coat-tails of Premier League leaders Chelsea, with a 2-0 win in the Midlands.

The Argentina international’s 88th minute strike against Aston Villa has left the striker with goals in all but two matches this season, despite featuring for just over 400 minutes in the league.

Manchester City have scored at least two goals in five of their last six matches against Tottenham in all competitions and another victory against Spurs will be needed if the Citizens are to keep pace with Chelsea.

Transfer Tips

Angel di Maria (MUN) – £10.2m

Manchester United’s record signing scored and assisted for the third time in his last four matches for the club, as the Red Devils came away with a 2-1 win over Everton.

The former Real Madrid star will again be central to Louis Van Gaal’s attacking plans this weekend as Manchester United take on the Baggies on Monday night.

Manchester United have scored at least two goals in 12 of their last 13 matches against West Brom in all competitions and the Argentina international looks set to again show his quality in the Premier League during Gameweek 8.

Ryan Bertrand (SOU) – £5.3m

Ryan Bertrand featured for the seventh time this season, as Southampton slipped to a 1-0 defeat at White Hart Lane.

The on-loan Chelsea left-back has yet to miss a minute of football for the Saints in the Premier League and the one-time Champions League winner will be hoping the club will return to winning ways, with Ronald Koeman’s side set to enjoy a favourable fixture run over the next few gameweeks.

Opponents Sunderland picked up a 2-0 win over Stoke last time out and injuries to Emmanuele Giaccherini and Ricky Alvarez could see the visitors attack somewhat stifled.
