Fantasy Football Tips – Gameweek 5

Premier League leaders Chelsea continued their winning start to the season, with a 4-2 victory against Swansea. Elsewhere Aston Villa picked up a surprise victory at Anfield and Manchester United picked up their first win under Louis van Gaal with a 4-0 victory over QPR.

Sportingly Better picks out the best fantasy football tips for Gameweek 5, as Manchester City host Premier League leaders Chelsea.

Captain Choices

Wayne Rooney (MUN)

Wayne Rooney scored his second goal of the season as the striker’s sharp finish helped Manchester United to a 4-0 win over QPR.

Louis van Gaal’s switch in-formation on Sunday produced a buoyant attacking display, with Wayne Rooney preferred up-front with Robin van Persie, and record signing Angel di Maria switched to a wide-left position.

The Red Devils may be targeting the title, but the club look likely to pick up back-to-back victories in the Premiership this weekend, with a re-engineered attack too strong for opponents Leicester.

Diego Costa (CHE)

Seven goals in four games has been the return for Jose Mourinho’s number one transfer target this summer, with the Spain international picking up his first-ever Premier League hat-trick last time out against Swansea.

The former Atletico Madrid striker has scored in every league game so far and after being rested against Schalke in the Champions League, Costa is in-line to start against Manchester City this weekend.

Chelsea have scored two or more goals in every Premier League game this season and with compatriot Cesc Fabregas pulling the strings in midfield, expect Costa to carry on his utterly impressive scoring form on Sunday.

Transfer Tips

Nacer Chaldi (TOT) – £6.2m

Nacer Chadli fired in his third goal of the season as Tottenham were held to a 2-2 draw at the Stadium of Light.

The Belgium international was rested against Partizan Belgrade in the Europa League on Thursday and what was a largely second-string team by Mauricio Pochettino, with Chadli expected to start at home to the Baggies this weekend.

Opponents West Brom have conceded at least two goals in five of their last six matches in the Premiership and Spurs look well priced to pick up a resounding win on Sunday.

David de Gea (MUN) – £5.5m

One of few unchallenged goalkeeping positions at the top clubs in the Premier League, Manchester United goalkeeper picked up back-to-back clean sheets for the first time this season.

A permanent switch to a flat back four may well increase the defensive returns of the Red Devils over the course of the season and with no European football to distract the 20 times Premier League champions, expect the club to be fully prepared and focused in each and every match.

Opponents Leicester have only once managed to score more than one goal this season and Louis van Gaal’s side could pick up their second successive win to nil this weekend.
