Fantasy Football Tips – Gameweek 4

Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson bagged a hat-trick in Gameweek 3, as the Cherries beat West Ham 4-3 at Upton Park, whilst former Barcelona midfielder Pedro produced a dream debut for his side; scoring and picking up an assist in Chelsea’s first win of the season.

Guest blogger Ashil Parekh picks out his best fantasy football tips for Gameweek 4, as league leaders Manchester City host newly promoted side Watford.

Captain Choices

Sergio Aguero (MCI)

One goal in three games may not be the stand-out stat for the Fantasy Premier League’s most expensive player, but a price rise of £0.2m after three gameweeks highlights confidence in the player.

Manchester City welcome Watford to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday and whilst the Hornets still searching for their first win, the Citizens have been relentless winning all three matches with a goal difference of plus 8.

Having already scored against defending champions Chelsea at home, Aguero must surely add to his tally at home to Watford this weekend.

Christian Benteke (LIV)

Summer signing Christian Benteke has begun to show signs that he is adapting well to Liverpool’s set-up, but the form and burgeoning season Philippe Coutinho appears to be having could create a lot of chances for the former Aston Villa striker.

The number 10 uses has lost just a total of two air duels this season and his movement and positioning has been solid enough. Benteke was just unlucky to have not scored against Arsenal last week, but should find the going much better against the Hammers this time round.

West Ham have conceded six goals in their last two games and a trip to Anfield should see yet more misery for Slaven Bilic’s side with Liverpool looking to defend their unbeaten start to the season.

Transfer Tips

David Silva (MCI) – £10.1m

Increasingly the heart of Manuel Pellegrini’s side, David Silva has reinforced his credentials as a standout choice with three assists in as many games.

Silva scored 12 goals for the Citizens last season and could get off the mark this weekend with a home tie against Watford to look forward to.

The Spain international has created over 10 chances for his side and forms the hub of most attacks created by the Premier League title challengers.

Silva was influential during Manchester City’s last game at home to Chelsea and will look to feed the ball in between the lines against the Hornets this weekend.

Mame Biram Diouf (STK) – £6.6m

Although the glamour selection may be recent signing Xherdan Shaqiri, Stoke striker Mame Biram Diouf is beginning to look like an interesting differential with two goals in his last two games for the Potters.

Despite playing Arsenal next gameweek, Stoke’s fixture run is appealing right the way up to Gameweek 8 and looking at the stats, Diouf has proved a good enough match for in-form strikers Sergio Aguero and Bafetimbi Gomis.
