Fantasy Football Tips – Gameweek 37

Angel Rangel was the highest points scorer in Gameweek 36, as Swansea enjoyed a double gameweek against Manchester City and Wigan.

Elsewhere Joe Hart helped Manchester City keep clean sheets against Swansea and West Brom and Gabriel Agbonlahor scored twice as Aston Villa secured a 2-1 win over Norwich.

Reading ran out 4-2 winners at Craven Cottage with Jem Karacan and Hal Robson-Kanu scoring, whilst Brazilian Oscar helped Chelsea pick up four points during an important week for the Blues.

Sportingly Better picks out the best fantasy football tips for Gameweek 37 as Sunderland face Southampton.

Captain Choices

Gareth Bale (TOT)

Gareth Bale’s late strike against Southampton last weekend proved enough to give Tottenham all three points, but a subdued performance against Chelsea in the following game halted the Wales international’s run of scoring in each of his last three games.

Bale’s 47 bonus points cannot be bettered by any other player in the Premier League and the highly coveted midfielder will be key if Spurs are to secure a top four finish this season.

Opponents Stoke have only managed two clean sheets in their last 11 matches at the Britannia Stadium and the PFA Player of the Year will once again be Tottenham’s main inspiration on Sunday.

Theo Walcott (ARS)

It took just 20 seconds for Walcott to score his 13th Premier League goal of the season last weekend and the England international’s strikes against Manchester United and QPR could yet prove crucial for Arsenal’s Champions League hopes.

Walcott’s positional switch to a more advanced role has proved successful for Arsene Wenger, who has watched the former Southampton player score 20 goals in all competitions despite missing a number of fixtures for the club.

Opponents Wigan have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last six games in the Premier League and the Latics defending could ultimately prove costly with Walcott having already picked up assist points in the reverse fixture back in December.

Robin Van Persie (MUN)

The Premier League’s most in-form striker is just five goals short of his mark from last season, but the clinical Dutch striker failed to retain his PFA Player of the Year award last week.

Van Persie has crept back into form after scoring six goals in his last five appearances for the club and the Dutch striker will be keen to give his manager the perfect send off at Old Trafford by firing Manchester United towards a comfortable win over the Swans this weekend.

Opponents Swansea have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last six away games in the Premiership and Van Persie could add to his assist points in the reverse fixture against Michael Laudrup’s side on Sunday.

Transfer Tips

Daniel Sturridge (LIV) – £7.0m

Three goals in three games would have been the ideal response that Brendan Rodgers would have sought from his stand-in striker and the England international will be looking to build on his recent run of form for the club.

Sturridge was denied by a spirited Everton defence during the Merseyside derby last weekend, but the Liverpool forward should find the going much easier at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

Opponents Fulham have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last seven games in the Premier League and the England striker looks like Liverpool’s most likely source of goals this gameweek.

Oscar (CHE) – £7.9m

Oscar’s 10th minute header against Tottenham on Wednesday was only the Brazillian’s fourth goal of the season, but the Chelsea midfielder remains an attractive proposition; with Aston Villa the opponents.

Oscar has started  in each of Chelsea’s last four games in the Premier League and a return of three goals, and six bonus points can only be bettered by Gareth Bale going into Gameweek 37.

Opponents Aston Villa have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last 20 games in the Premiership and Chelsea’s in-form midfielder will be the Villains most likely tormentor on Sunday.
