Fantasy Football Tips – Gameweek 34

John Terry was the highest points scorer in Gameweek 33, after scoring twice during Chelsea’s 3-0 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Mikel Arteta and Oliver Giroud both made the most of Arsenal’s double gameweek with impressive scores, whilst Stephane Sessegnon helped Sunderland earn a spectacular 3-0 win against Newcastle on Sunday.

Elsewhere Robin Van Persie returned to goalscoring ways, whilst Tim Howard and Sylvain Distin helped Everton to consecutive clean sheets during both of their games in Gameweek 33.

Sportingly Better picks out the best fantasy football tips for Gameweek 34 as Tottenham host Manchester City.

Captain Choices

Robin Van Persie (MUN)

Robin Van Persie ended his 10-match drought with goals against Stoke and West Ham during Gameweek 33 and the Manchester United striker will be keen to end the season on a high note, after scoring 21 goals since his move from Arsenal.

The Dutch forward has closed the gap down to one goal in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot, but the clinical striker will be solely focused on getting his new team over the line.

Opponents Aston Villa have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last 17 games in the Premiership and with Van Persie having picked up an assist in the reverse fixture, the Dutch striker seems well poised to make another telling contribution for the league leaders on Monday.

Michu (SWA)

Michu’s opener against Norwich last time out made it two goals in as many games for the Spanish midfielder, but the Swansea City star was guilty of missing a glorious chance in injury time.

The former Rayo Vallecano player has made a huge impact in the Premier League since arriving in the summer, with the surroundings of south Wales proving the ideal setting, with Michu scoring 11 of his 17 goals at the Liberty Stadium.

Opponents Southampton have shipped 34 goals away from home and despite the Saints good run of recent form, Michu could strike again on Saturday with both sides seemingly safe from the drop.

Transfer Tips

Stephane Sessegnon (SUN) – £6.9m

Sunderland’s revitalised performance against Newcastle on Sunday was inspired by Stephane Sessegnon, with the player producing a man of the match performance as the Black Cats won 3-0 at St James Park.

A goal, assist and two bonus points were all picked up by the Benin international, who could prove to have a starring role in his side’s bid to avoid relegation, with striker Steven Fletcher ruled out for the rest of the season.

Aston Villa, Stoke and Southampton are the next three opponents after Everton and Sessegnon will need to reproduce his performance in Gameweek 33 over the next few weeks, if the Black Cats are to stay up.

Kevin Mirallas (EVE) – £6.9m

Kevin Mirallas has found himself on the Everton wing for much of the season, but the Belgium striker goes into the weekend in superb form after picking up bonus points in five of his last six matches in the Premier League.

Mirallas has yet to replicate his goal record from his time with Olympiacos in the Greek Super League, but the Belgium international looks increasingly impressive for the Toffees coming into the final few games of the season.

Everton still remain in the hunt for European football and with Sunderland, Fulham and West Ham still to come, Mirallas will be keen to maintain his recent performances as David Moyes’ side prepare for another top six finish in the Premier League.

Carlos Tevez (MCI) – £8.7m

Carlos Tevez’s late strike against Wigan last time out kept the Citizen’s title defence going for at least another few weeks, as the Argentina international continued to fire in the goals for Manchester City.

Strike partner Sergio Aguero is a doubt for Gameweek 34 with a hamstring injury, but it is Manchester City’s double fixtures against Swansea and West Brom in Gameweek 36 that make Tevez and his team mates such attractive transfer options over the next couple of weeks.

Tevez has scored four goals in his last six appearances in the Premier League and the determined forward should add to his tally of 11 goals before the end of the season.
