Fantasy Football Tips – Gameweek 3
Sportingly Better picks out the best fantasy football tips for Gameweek 3, as Spurs face Liverpool in the early kick-off on Saturday.
Captain Choices
Zlatan Ibrahimovic (MUN)
Two goals on his home league debut for Manchester United against Southampton last Friday night did much to catapult the Swedish striker to a must-have player.
Now owned by over 50% of fantasy football managers, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has already been transferred in for this gameweek by over a quarter of a million players.
Continued penalty duties for the Red Devils and continued price rises should see Ibrahimovic’s stock rise even further as Manchester United travel away to Hull this weekend.
Sergio Aguero (MCI)
Two goals from Sergio Aguero helped Manchester City pick up a comprehensive 4-1 victory away at Stoke, as substitute Nolito scored twice late-on to compound the Potters to a considerable defeat.
The Argentinean striker who was an unused substitute in Wednesday’s Champions League match against Steaua Bucharest, did make amends for missing two penalties in the first leg match by slotting home against Stoke from the penalty spot to open the scoring.
With a home match against West Ham, Aguero will be well backed again with the captain’s armband this weekend.
Transfer Tips
Alvaro Negredo (MID) – £6.7m
Strike partner Christian Stuani may have taken the headlines after scoring both goals in a 2-1 win away at Sunderland, but it was the performance by Spanish striker Alvaro Negredo which also caught the eye.
The former Manchester City striker assisted both goals for Boro, with Aitor Karanka’s charges looking the most promising promoted outfit this season in the Premier League.
Negredo scored in Middlesbrough’s opening 1-1 draw against Stoke and the striker already looks a promising selection as the third choice striker this season.
Etienne Capoue (WAT) – £4.6m
Etienne Capoue’s rifled left-footed shot against Chelsea last time out appeared for a long time to be the winning goal for the Hornets, but two late strikes by the Blues denied Walter Mazzari’s side all three points.
The French midfielder has opened his Premier League campaign with back-to-back goals this season and Watford’s trip against Arsenal should not hold much fear for the London side this weekend.
ON THE WATCHLIST
- Ross Barkley (EVE) – £7.7m
- Luke Shaw (MUN) – £5.6m
