Premier League Fantasy Football Tips – Gameweek 23
Captain Choices
Joe Hart
Manchester City perhaps have the easiest fixture this week with a home tie against strugglers Wolves who have only scored 6 goals away from home this season. Joe Hart has also kept cleansheets in the last 3 Premier League games.
Carlos Tevez is another contender although the Argentine has cut a frustrated figure in recent matches against Arsenal and Blackpool. It remains to be seen how Tevez will be used with Dzeko in the side but Manchester City’s talisman is normally at the forefront of anything attacking from Roberto Mancini’s side.
Nani
The Portugese midfielder is an increasingly important player for Manchester United and scored on his return from injury last time out against Stoke. This gameweek Nani is up against Harry Redknapp’s charges and the winger has a good goalscoring habit against Spurs. Nani also scored a hotly controversial goal in the reverse at Old Trafford this season.
Didier Drogba
Chelsea are back at Stamford Bridge and Blackburn shouldn’t pose the champions too many problems. Drogba has scored 8 of his 9 goals this season at the Bridge and scored in the last home game versus Aston Villa. Drogba also scored in this fixture last season.
Florent Malouda is another choice and the French midfielder has scored 7 out of his 8 goals at home and has accumulated one goal and one assist in his last 3 matches.
Transfer Options
Adam Johnson – 5.7m
The young English winger is currently at his lowest fantasy price of the season and Johnson has played in the last two home games for Manchester City where he has amassed 19 points. Johnson should be involved for the game at Wolves and should be the man to provide the assists for Tevez and new signing Dzeko.
Charlie Adam – 5.4m
The Scottish midfielder is a key part of the Tangerines side and is usually amongst most of Blackpool’s set pieces. Adam is in good form recently and also picked up an assist against this week’s opponents West Brom in the reverse at Bloomfield Road.
Robert Huth – 5.3m
The German centre half scores his fair share of goals for a centre half and is the second top goalscorer for Stoke so far this season. A home match against Bolton is favourable, where Huth collected assist points back in the reverse at the Reebok back in October.
