Fantasy Football Tips – Gameweek 2

Sportingly Better picks out the best fantasy football tips for Gameweek 2, as potential title challengers Manchester United face Southampton on Friday night.

Captain Choices

Zlatan Ibrahimovic (MUN)

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s drilled low finish from 25 yards out helped Manchester United to a 3-1 victory away at Bournemouth and if not for a fine save from Artur Boruc, the Swedish powerhouse could have notched a second.

That goal meant that Zlatan has scored on his league debut in four different countries and Manchester United’s summer signing will be looking to make it three goals in three games for Jose Mourinho’s side on Friday.

Interest in this game may sit more with Paul Pogba’s debut return for the Red Devils, but Zlatan looks poised to again be the focal point of the Manchester United attack.

Sergio Aguero (MCI)

Sergio Aguero endured an eventful midweek Champions League outing in Romania, missing two penalties before putting away a hat-trick in some style.

The Argentinean forward is already off the mark after netting against Sunderland last time out and with almost half of managers owning Manchester City’s star-turn, Aguero remains an obvious captain choice for Gameweek 2.

Transfer Tips

Philippe Coutinho (LIV) – £8.1m

Despite being priced below both Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, dynamic midfielder Philippe Coutinho stole the show with his performance helping revive Liverpool as they defeated Arsenal 4-3 at the Emirates Stadium.

The Brazil international has seen his price increase already this gameweek and with injury to Sadio Mane, expect Coutinho to put in another star performance, as Jurgen Klopp’s well-fancied side travel to Turf Moor to take on Burnley.

Eden Hazard (CHE) – £10.0m

Belgium international showed glimpses of his Premier League winning form of two years ago with a revitalised performance as the Blues got off to a winning start under Antonio Conte.

Eden Hazard’s performance last weekend did enough to pick up three bonus points and with a trip away to Vicarage Road to come, Hazard may continue to shine once again.

ON THE WATCHLIST

  • Erik Lamela (TOT)  – £7.0m
  • Antonio Valencia (MUN) – £5.5m
