Fantasy Football Tips – Gameweek 12

Everton’s Arouna Kone scored a hat-trick as Everton crushed Sunderland 6-2 last weekend, whilst Odion Ighalo continued his fine goalscoring form with a brace against Slaven Bilic’s Hammers.

Sportingly Better picks out the best fantasy football tips for Gameweek 12, as Arsenal host Spurs in the north London derby.

Captain Choices

Jamie Vardy (LEI)

England international Jamie Vardy scored for the eighth game in a row, as Leicester moved up to third place with a highly credible 3-2 win away at the Hawthorns.

Only Ruud van Nistelrooy has now scored in more consecutive games than Vardy in the Premier League era and a home match against Watford on Saturday will give the hardworking striker a real chance of catching the former Manchester United’s record.

Vardy’s confidence and Leicester’s growing expectations show no signs of slowing down and even the Premier League Golden Boot may not be so far fetched given the striker’s burgeoning form.

Kevin De Bruyne (MCI)

Manuel Pellegrini’s decision to drop Kevin De Bruyne for Manchester City’s fantastic away win at Sevilla, should leave the Citizens summer signing in prime position to start against bottom club Aston Villa on Sunday.

The Belgium international has been involved in over a quarter of Manchester City’s 26 goals in the Premier League this term, despite only featuring since Gameweek 5 and the former Chelsea and Wolfsburg player continues to grow his reputation in European football.

De Bruyne will likely find space and opportunity given Villa’s current vein of form and confidence and further assists from Manchester City’s big-money signing seem likely to return this weekend.

Transfer Tips

Christian Benteke (LIV) – £8.3m

Two goals in his last two outings has seen Christian Benteke work his way back to fitness and back in Jurgen Klopp’s plans.

Liverpool’s turn in form looks likely to continue after a third win on the bounce in the Europa League away in Russia on Thursday.

Undoubtedly Klopp will favour Benteke when fit, given similarities to when his Borussia Dortmund side were spearheaded by Polish striker Robert Lewandowski and consistent returns in the Premier League for Aston Villa over the past three seasons, should leave the Belgian forward firmly in the mind of fantasy football managers, especially given Liverpool’s fixtures after Gameweek 14.

Marcos Rojo (MUN) – £5.4m

After an outstanding performance against the Citizens  in the Manchester derby, Marcos Rojo has now started all of Manchester United’s last five games in all competitions.

Luke Shaw’s long-term injury should provide the Argentinean with improved game time this term and with an incredibly good run of fixtures for the rest of the calendar year, Rojo remains arguably the best way to get into Manchester United’s rigid backline.
