Fantasy Football Premier League Tips – Gameweek 21

With Gameweek 22 taking place next Tuesday and Wednesday, once again we have to be weary of managers looking to keep teams fresh by making changes to their first XI. As we saw with Wenger’s selection on Wednesday night, managers are not afraid of making wholesale changes if they believe the squad they put out can still get the right result, unluckily for Wenger the gamble didn’t pay off courtesy of some questionable defending. However fantasy favourites like Nasri and Fabregas should return to the starting lineup against Birmingham this weekend. Other players to consider bringing into your squads include the following:

Luka Modric (7.2m) – As Van Der Vaart’s stock keeps on rising, Modric offers an attractive differential at a cheaper price. Modric is an unsung hero for Spurs as he doesn’t always produce the assists or goals, but his performances are vital in achieving the results, as shown by his bonus hauls collecting 10 in his last 5 matches. He is clearly a talented individual in one of the strongest midfields in the league.

Dimitar Berbatov (9.1m) – This is a player who’s bang in form at the moment, producing another clinical finish against Birmingham whilst collecting 2 bonus points in the process. Confidence is flowing through his veins and despite there being a risk of him being rested, Berbatov is a sound long term investment who is clearly benefiting from playing alongside Rooney.

Carlos Tevez (11.3m) – Tevez found his shooting boots on Boxing day with a massive 16 point haul against Newcastle, to put the whole transfer fiasco to bed. Having been rested against Villa, he should be fresh to take the fight to Blackpool this weekend. If Blackpool offer Man City as many chances as they afforded Sunderland, we could be looking at a cricket score, which is why Tevez is my choice for captain this gameweek.
