FA Cup Special 19th Feb & 20th Feb
Birmingham suffered a rare and somewhat surprising home defeat last time out in the Premiership against Newcastle and will surely not allow for another repeat performance and result against League One Sheffield Wednesday. Wednesday, who are now managed by Gary Megson have not won in four games. Away from Hillsborough and at the moment it’s even bleaker losing the last 4, conceding 14. With a Carling Cup final to look forward to at the end of the month, Birmingham will be more than content with Premier League survival and decent cup runs. Zigic is starting to grow in confidence and with the recent additions of Obafemi Martins, David Bentley and Curtis Davies should have enough about them to bounce back with a win in front of the St Andrews crowd.
Birmingham City to win @1.66
Manchester City will be content enough that they should be playing Champions League football next season. Whilst this was the aim at the start of the campaign, Roberto Mancini would surely like to add some silverware to the glittering squad that he has already assembled. Manchester City did play in the Europa League, but unusually this was on Tuesday and not Thursday, which should provide enough recuperation time for Sunday’s match. Edin Dzeko who of course scored in the original match might fancy his chances of adding to his goal tally in the FA Cup and the enigma Mario Balotelli is fit and if he starts will likely cause a lot of damage against Notts County in the 4th round replay.
Manchester City -1 @1.61
