European Weekend Football Tips – 21-22 January

Espanyol are undefeated in 4 games in La Liga and have even faced Sevilla, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid and the Periquitos are 9th in the Spanish Primera Division, just one point away from Athletic Bilbao in 5th place.

The departure of Pablo Osvaldo to Roma last year has left the Catalan side short of goals with an average of 1 goal scored this term in what is now a fairly youthful side. Espanyol have picked up four wins at home this season and their record generally at the Estadi Cornella-El Prat is strong.

Opponents this weekend are newly promoted Granada who have scored just 4 times on the road this season. Granada will also be missing Diakate who is on Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal, whilst midfielder Yebda has also been called up by Algeria. Granada have lost 3 out of 4 games and should struggle to get anything in Barcelona.

Espanyol to win @1.72
