European Weekend Football Tips 17th & 18th September

Despite the quality of opposition last time out, Malaga looked impressive against Granada winning 4-0 at La Rosaleda. New signings Joaquin and Santiago Cazorla both grabbed braces and Ruud Van Nistelrooy was unlucky not to add further goals to the scoreline.

Next up are Michael Laudrup’s Real Mallorca side, who have a good record at the Iberostar Stadium. But Mallorca lost Canadian attacker Jonathan de Guzman to Villarreal and last seasons top goalscorer Patrick Webo also left the club; hardly comforting news for the side that finished 17th in the Primera Liga last term.

Big spending Malaga will be keen to build on the encouraging display last weekend and should be too strong for Real Mallorca.

Malaga 0, -0.5 Asian Handicap @2.075

The Bianconeri looked unstoppable in their new surroundings, recording a 4-1 victory over Parma. New signings Stephan Lichtsteiner and Arturo Vidal look immediately promising, but Andrea Pirlo stole the show. The free transfer signing from AC Milan, orchestrated the passing play from Juventus’ midfield and showed sublime vision. The likes of Elia, Krasic, Vidal, Vucinic, Toni and Bonucci were all named on the bench, which gives an indication of the strength and quality at Juve’s disposal this season.

Opponents Siena had a forgettable opening encounter after a 0-0 draw with Catania. But Giuseppe Sannino’s side do have proven quality with the likes of Gaetano D’Agostino, Franco Brienza and Emanuele Calaio, but Juventus have invested heavily over the summer and should have too much for the newly promoted side.

Juventus 0, -0.5 Asian Handicap @1.525
