European Football Tips For The Weekend 2nd & 3rd April

Francesco Guidolin’s Udinese team are the most in-form side in Europe at the moment. Udinese currently occupy fourth place, which for this season at least is still UEFA Champions League qualification and the Bianconeri will be looking to continue their incredibly impressive form this weekend against 18th placed Lecce.

Udinese have won 6 our of their last 7 games scoring 19 goals in that run and have yet to concede in over 650 minutes of football. Udinese are actually unbeaten in 13 and have won their last 5 away games on the bounce, a run of form that the Giallorossi are unlikely to challenge; losing 5 of their last 7 games.

Italian striker Antonio Di Natale has scored in Udinese’s last 4 games. Udinese’s captain and penalty taker also hit a hattrick in November as Udinese took apart Lecce 4-0.

It’s all change at the Veltins-Arena for Champions League quarter finalists Schalke, with Felix Magath sacked and former Hoffenheim manager Ralf Rangnick taking over. Schalke have undoubted quality with the likes of Jefferson Farfan, Manuel Neuer, Cristoph Metzelder, Raul and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.  Opponents for Rangnick’s first game in charge are St Pauli who have lost their last five games and have scored just 2 goals. St Pauli have a dreadful home record this season winning only 4 games, with bottom placed Borussia Monchengladbach the only side to  have a worse home record. With a new manager at the helm Schalke should come away with a positive result.
