European Football Tips For the Weekend 14th & 15th May

There is little on the line for Cologne and Schalke on Saturday, with both teams safe in the Bundesliga. Schalke have quickly slumped back to their poor form that has plagued their domestic season and have lost the last 3 on the bounce. On the road does not get much better for Die Konigsblauen with 4 losses in their last 6 games.

Cologne have been dominant at home all season, winning 10 of 16 including 7 of the last 8 at the RheinEnergieStadion. Slovenian forward Novakovic has scored 54% of Cologne’s goals at home including 6 goals in the last 4 home games and wouldn’t be a bad choice as anytime goalscorer at 2.25. But Cologne have won their last 2 on the bounce including a 2-0 home win over second placed Leverkusen and should round off the season with another win in front of the home fans.

Cologne to win @2.25

Despite 3 wins in their last 5 games, Real Sociedad have not secured their La Liga safety and their away record is none too impressive as they travel to Seville. The Txuri-urdin have lost 14 of 18 games on the road and only in 3 matches have Real Sociedad conceded 1 goal or less. On average away from home this season they have conceded 2.33 goals leaving 94% of all away games surpassing the overs mark.

Opponents Sevilla are currently in seventh position level on points with Atletico Madrid in sixth, which is the last Europa League spot. Inconsistency has quite frankly marred the Sevillistas season and Sevilla have never strung more than 2 wins together or an unbeaten run longer than 4 matches. With Negredo and Luis Fabiano, Sevilla definitely have the attacking quality in a game that both sides should really look to take with Europa League qualification and survival on the line.

Over 2.5 goals (Sevilla v Real Sociedad) @1.57
