European Football Tips For The Weekend 12th & 13th March

Despite being two places lower in La Liga, 12th placed Levante seem more upwardly mobile than Sunday’s opponents Mallorca. Luis Garcia’s side have suffered only 1 defeat in their last 7 matches and that was a 2-0 loss away at the Bernabeu to Real Madrid; a run that has seen credible victories over Vilarreal and Getafe.

Inconsistency has somewhat plagued Mallorca’s season, albeit offset by a decent home record at the Iberostar Stadium. But Mallorca will be away at the Ciutat de Valencia, and on the road Los Bermellones have managed just 3 victories all season. Mallorca have never kept a clean sheet away from home and have only picked up 2 wins out of their last 9 fixtures.

Colombian striker Felipe Caicedo has scored 11 goals for Levante this campaign, 10 of which have been at home. The on-loan Manchester City striker has also scored at the Ciutat de Valencia stadium in Levante’s last 4 home games.

Additional tip: Caicedo to score anytime @2.75

Despite possessing a talented squad with the likes of Gilardino, Montolivo, Mutu and Jovetic; Fiorentina are again outside of the European places in 10th place. Fiorentina coach  and former Serbian defender Sinisa Mihajlovic knows the Italian game well having played most of his professional career in Serie A with Roma, Sampdoria, Lazio and Inter, and seems to respect the away draw with the Florence outfit recording 7 away draws away from Stadio Artemo Franchi this campaign.

Sunday’s opponents; 13th placed Chievo also seem to welcome the shared spoils and Mussi Volanti have managed 7 draws at Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi. Chievo have managed just 2 wins in their last 10 games and much of their success seems to hinge on star striker Sergio Pellisier. Fiorentina meanwhile have lost just once in their last 7 Serie A games and that was against Inter Milan and the odds on the Asian Handicap again look inviting for these two draw specialists.
