UEFA European Under 21 Championship Final Betting Tips

As predicted exclusively on Sportingly Better, Spain and Switzerland are the two who will battle it out in Aarhus today in the European Under 21 Championship final, with Spain looking to make it a third title and Switzerland hoping to win the tournament for the first time in their history.

Pre-tournament favourites have fired their way to the final with Adrian leading and looking likely to secure the Adidas Golden Boot Award with 5 goals.  In the 2007 FIFA Under 20 World Cup Adrian won the Silver Shoe finishing only 1 goal before Sergio Aguero and the Deportivo striker has showed continued pedigree as a goal getting striker.  Juan Mata has also notched up a brace and the World Cup Winner along with Adrian are the two stand out candidates to break the Swiss resolve who are yet to concede a goal in the tournament so far.

The Swiss have a lot of maturity in their side with no fewer than 9 of their ranks having all been capped at senior level and just like Spain favour a strong team ethic and a consistent team selection. Spain have picked virtually the same side throughout the competition, with the switch of Jeffren and Munian the only change so far. Switzerland have had 8 players start all four games, with Xhaka likely to return for the final after serving suspension in the semi-final. Interestingly both Spain and Switzerland suffered scares in the semi-finals, with both sides needing extra-time in which to reach today’s final.

Many believe that Switzerland are probably under priced, but it is always hard to back against quality in any match and Spain have two World Cup winners and various emerging talent such as Thiago Alacantra, Iker Munian and David De Gea. Spain will undoubtedly have the possession, but Switzerland are a good side and will look to make the final a tight affair.

Best Bet: Under 2.5 goals @1.72

Value Bet: Adrian to score first @5.0

Long Shot: Switzerland 1-0 @12.0
