Euro 2012 Betting Predictions – 11 June

A less than impressive qualifying campaign saw Les Bleus qualify for Euro 2012, but France will be desperate to erase the memory of their last outing at the European Championships.

Laurent Blanc has revitalised Les Bleus with Yann M’Vila the heartbeat of the French national side and the Rennes  midfielder should overcome his ankle knock to feature today. Karim Benzema could be in-line for a good tournament with the Real Madrid striker set to receive plenty of support from Ribery, Nasri and Malouda, but it is at the back where France have excelled picking up six clean sheets during qualification.

Roy Hodgson is again expected to play Ashley Young in the hole in a 4-4-1-1 formation and the Manchester United midfielder should be the main danger the French have to contend with. Wayne Rooney is missing through suspension and the likes of Cahill, Lampard and Barry have all been withdrawn from the squad. Milner and Downing are likely to be the wide options with Danny Welbeck set to get the nod up front, but England will need to play markedly better than in Roy Hodgson’s opening games if they are to unruffle the French feathers.

France are unbeaten in 21 games and the discomfort of fielding two left-sided centre halves in Terry and Lescott should leave France able to capitalise on a depleted England side.
