England v Montenegro – Betting Preview

England’s goalless draw with Ukraine in September, left the Three Lions with plenty of work to do in Group H, as Roy Hodgson’s side battle to secure World Cup qualification.

Sportingly Better picks out the best value football tips this weekend, as England host Montenegro.

International Weekend Football Tips

England (1.33) v Montenegro (13.00); Draw (5.00)

Group H leaders England take on Montenegro on Friday, with manager Roy Hodgson adamant his side “will deliver” all three points at Wembley.

Only Belgium and Spain have conceded fewer goals than Roy Hodgson’s side during qualification and a conservative start may be on the cards for England, despite needing all three points against their Group H opponents on Friday.

England boast the third best attack and the second best defensive record in competitive internationals since the World Cup in 2010, but the attitude and atmosphere towards the Three Lions remains distinctly low.

England’s forward line however does bode confidence with Roy Hodgson’s pairing of Wayne Rooney and Daniel Sturridge enjoying a good run of form for club and country.

Wayne Rooney has scored five goals in his last four World Cup qualifiers. Back Wayne Rooney to score any time at 2.25.

Visitors Montenegro sit just one point below England in Group H, but the Hrabri Sokoli’s 1-0 victory over Moldova in June, remains the side’s only victory in their last four matches in the group.

Coach Branko Brnovic will have to contend with a number of absentees tonight, with Mirko Vucinic, Mladen Bozovic, Marko Basa and Milorad Pekovic all missing, but the approach play of Manchester City forward Stevan Jovetic will have to be closely monitored.

All three of the previous meetings between the two sides have ended in draws, but the growing sense of urgency from both sides should see the fourth installment finish with a victor.
