England v Denmark – Betting Preview
Sportingly Better takes a look at the best value football predictions for the midweek round of international fixtures, as England host Denmark at Wembley.
Football Predictions
England (1.61) v Denmark (5.50); Draw (3.80)
England will be looking to bounce back from successive international defeats, with Denmark the visitors to Wembley on Wednesday.
The Three Lions have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last eight international friendlies and injuries to defenders Phil Jones and Phil Jagielka will see either Chris Smalling or Steven Caulker partner Gary Cahill at the back.
Tottenham right back Kyle Walker is also doubtful, but whilst the defensive ranks have been largely short of form and need to be reshuffled, the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Wayne Rooney, Adam Lallana and Raheem Sterling have all impressed for their club sides this season.
England have won just two of their last five matches on the international stage, but the expectations on Roy Hodgson’s side will leave the media lamenting England’s chances in the event of anything other than a home win.
Opponents Denmark failed to qualify for the World Cup; finishing second to Italy, but Morten Olsen could use Wednesday’s international friendly as a chance to experiment with his tactics and younger members of the squad.
Denmark have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last five games and the visitors will have to be on their guard if they are to keep England at bay.
Wednesday’s game at Wembley is the final time Roy Hodgson will have to see his players in action before naming his World Cup squad and with England’s attacking players in fine form, expect an entertaining game in London as the Three Lions press for the victory.
