Chelsea v Manchester United – Betting Preview

Chelsea will be looking to keep pace with league leaders Arsenal this weekend, with champions Manchester United the visitors to Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Sportingly Better picks out the best value football tips this weekend as Chelsea host Manchester United.

Weekend Football Tips

Chelsea (1.75) v Manchester United (5.25); Draw (3.800)

Goals from Eden Hazard and Fernando Torres gave Chelsea their fourth successive win in the Premiership, as the Blues came away with a 2-0 victory at Hull.

Jose Mourinho’s stranglehold at Stamford Bridge during his first spell as manager of the club has quickly been rebuilt, with Chelsea having won nine of their 10 opening matches in West London this season.

Chelsea’s adventure at Stamford Bridge has also seen the club scoring twice in all but one of their matches at home this season, something that could happen again give the form of top scorer Eden Hazard for the Blues.

New £21 million signing Nemanja Matic is unlikely to start on Sunday, but the Serbian midfielder is likely to pick up a spot on the bench, in what is virtually a fully fit squad for Mourinho.

Chelsea have kept clean sheets against Manchester United in each of the last three meetings, so the news that both Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney will miss this weekend’s match is likely to be a big negative for the defending Premier League champions.

David Moyes may instead choose a more counter-attacking system, with Antonio Valencia and Shinji Kagawa providing pace and dynamism behind lone striker Danny Welbeck in attack.

Despite the defeat against Tottenham on New Year’s Day, Manchester United have actually won five of their last six matches in the Premier League, but that form has yet to make an impact on the club’s failing pursuit of a UEFA Champions League place.

Both sides played out a very dull 0-0 draw in the reverse fixture back in August, but super Sunday’s clash at Stamford Bridge promises to be a much more open affair.
