Burnley v Chelsea – Premiership Football Tips

After an unexpected defeat for Manchester United on Saturday, Premier League betting expert Shawn Retsam turns his attention to title favourites Chelsea, who take on newcomers Burnley on Monday night.

Premiership Football Tips

Burnley (9.00) v Chelsea (1.40); Draw (5.00)

Title favourites Chelsea look set to debuts to high profile arrivals Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa at Turf Moor, but left back Filipe Luis may have to settle for a place on the bench.

The Blues  have won 13 of their opening 15 games of during Premier League history, including all five campaign openers under current boss Jose Mourinho.

Chelsea are curiously unbeaten in their last 10 Premier League matches played on a Monday, but newly promoted Burnley will be looking to quickly end that record as they take their Premiership bow this year.

Mourinho may choose to rest some of his World Cup participants, but after wins for Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City, the self-proclaimed ‘happy one‘ will be eager not to slip up this weekend.

Opponents Burnley have not beaten Chelsea in a top-flight match since a 1-0 victory at Turf Moor back in 1973, but Danny Ings and Lukas Juktiewicz have looked dangerous during pre-season.

Spanish duo Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa should offer Chelsea a different dimension going forward and the Blues should record a comfortable victory against the hosts who are strong favourites for the drop.
