Next Aston Villa Manager – Betting Tips
Aston Villa manager Remi Garde left the club on Tuesday by mutual consent, after winning just two of his 20 games in charge of the Villains, with the Midlands side seeking their third manager of the season.

A run of six successive defeats ended Remi Garde’s reign at Villa Park, after just 147 days in charge.
The announcement preceded significant changes at the boardroom, with former manager Brian Little having been drafted in on the board of directors.
Little’s involvement and influence is said to extend to the recruiting process with the club widely expected to look for a “British manager who knows the Championship inside out”.
A boardroom reshuffle has seen unpopular chief executive Tom Fox make way, with Birmingham businessman Steven Hollis coming in as the club’s new chairman.
Former Governor of the Bank of England Lord King along with ex FA Chairman David Bernstien have both announced as new directors in recent weeks, as the club seeks to get it’s house in order as it faces a difficult challenge in England’s second tier next season.
The proposition at Villa Park is unlikely to deter some of the names in the hat, with owner Randy Lerner eager to prepare the club for life in the Championship.
David Moyes
Currently the bookmaker’s favourite in the ante-post betting market, former Everton and Manchester United manager David Moyes leads the way at odds of 3.50.
Moyes was believed to have been approached last year before the appointment of Tim Sherwood, with the Scottish manager said to have been “unimpressed” with the proposition and job at Villa Park.
A forgettable spell at Real Sociedad, which saw the manager sacked in November will have undoubtedly lessened Moyes’ bargaining power, with reports that the coach would like to revisit talks with the club, especially given changes in the hierarchy.
Moyes’ unattachment would appeal to Aston Villa, as well as the manager’s record at Everton and Preston of managing and building a team on a budget, with the coach seemingly the fans number one choice at present.
Nigel Pearson
Having built the foundations of Leicester’s title-chasing team, former Foxes manager Nigel Pearson is arguably the most current choice of all available candidates for the Aston Villa job.
Pearson led Leicester to the Championship title in 2014 and produced one of the greatest escapes in Premier League history, as his charges pulled out a miraculous run of form that not only kept the club in the top flight but provided the momentum that kick-started this season’s campaign.
Pearson remains the fans second choice according to one local poll, but a Championship winners medal only two years ago may sway more favour with the new board, despite some erratic managerial behaviour over the last two years.
Steve Bruce
A manager with both Premier League and Championship experience, current Hull boss Steve Bruce has been mooted as a potential candidate for the troubled Midland’s club.
Hull City have already come out to express the fact that any approach would be “unwelcome”, with the club focusing on returning to the top flight of English football.
A spell as Birmingham manager would leave Bruce as an unpopular choice, especially given the club’s need to get the fans back on-side, so a bet to lay the current Tigers boss seems like a strong move on the betting exchanges.
Garry Monk
Well-thought of at Swansea, Monk’s reign at the Liberty Stadium gained a number of admirers, but the largely inexperienced coach was moved on with little affair.
Monk’s immediately availability, drive and ambition holds appeal to a club who court the same, but the manager has drifted in the betting market out to 17.00, due to largely the shortening in price of front-runners Moyes and Pearson.
A lack of Championship experience is not necessarily deal-breaking given both Alex Neil (Norwich) and Slavisa Jankovic (Watford) secured promotion last year and current Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka has performed well in the division this time around.
Verdict
A largely two-horse race for the Aston Villa hotseat is likely to see the betting odds come even shorter for David Moyes and Nigel Pearson.
The club’s preference is rumoured to be again in favour of David Moyes, despite the manger’s damaging spells at Old Trafford and in Spain most recently, but dutching on both managers should provide a degree of safety as Aston Villa’s new board attempt to tie up their new manager and get the fans back on side.
