Tournament favourites Argentina will be desperate to book their place in the 2015 Copa America final after seeing hosts Chile defeat Peru in the semi-finals.
Copa America Football Tips
Argentina (1.40) v Colombia (10.50); Draw (4.60)
Paraguay will be looking to defy the odds once again as they look to knock out Argentina after outdoing Brazil in the quarter-finals.
Argentina haven’t really found their stride in the competition so far but still find themselves in the semi-finals of the tournament which is largely down to their individual brilliance they possess.
La Albiceleste have not conceded a goal since drawing 2-2 with Wednesday’s opponents Paraguay in their respective opening group game, but have also not been in free scoring form; firing in a single goal against both Jamaica and Uruguay and failing to score against Colombia last time out.
Paraguay meanwhile have won just one match outright so far with a slender 1-0 victory over Jamaica, but the underdogs have scored in every game so far in the tournament, a run of form that will challenge Argentina’s resilient defence.
Argentina coach Tata Martino will be desperate for improved performances especially from talisman Lionel Messi who has notched just one goal in this year’s edition, whilst Manchester United forward Angel Di Maria could be one to watch amidst rumours the player could leave the club this summer.
Opponents Paraguay produced a strong back against Argentina in their opening game after going behind by two goals, but Ramon Diaz’s side may take a more cagier approach this time around for his experienced squad with a place in the 2015 Copa America final at stake.
Argentina haven’t been at their best so far in the tournament, but their obvious quality should finally come to life as Tata Martino’s side book their place in the Copa America final.
