Accumulator Betting – 13-14 April

Selections from the Premiership and Football League make up the bets for this weekend’s football accumulator tips, returning odds of 7.08 on the treble.

Accumulator Tips

Reading (7.50) v Liverpool (1.50); Draw (4.50)

Reading’s defeat at home to Southampton last weekend all but condemned the Royals to Championship football next season, but new boss Nigel Adkins has called on his players to “embrace the challenge” of avoiding relegation.

Reading have lost their last seven matches in the Premier League and injuries to Jimmy Kebe and Hope Akpan will not have helped their manager’s cause this weekend.

Reading have been losing at both half time and full time in their last six matches in the Premier League. Back Liverpool on the HT/FT market at 2.20.

Opponents Liverpool played out a goalless draw against West Ham last weekend and the Merseyside club’s hopes of European qualification now look slim.

Daniel Sturridge may have to again settle for a place on the bench, but the Reds have not been short of goals on their travels with each of their last 10 games away from Anfield finishing with three or more goals.

Problems in defence have plagued Reading all season and Liverpool could reignite their hopes of a top six finish with victory against the Royals on Saturday.

Over 3.5 goals (Reading v Liverpool) @2.25

Southampton (1.80) v West Ham (4.75); Draw (3.80)

Mauricio Pochettino picked up a priceless win at the Madejski Stadium last time out, as the Saints took a massive step towards Premiership safety.

Southampton have won their last three matches in the Premier League and a win on Saturday would leave the south coast side on 40 points, with five games still to play.

The Saints have a fully fit squad going into Saturday’s match, so Jay Rodriguez should keep his place alongside Rickie Lambert in attack.

Southampton have been winning at both half time and full time in each of their last three games in the Premier League. Back Southampton on the HT/FT market at 2.88.

Opponents West Ham picked up a point at Anfield last time out, but the Hammers form away from Upton Park has been poor with just one win in their last 10 games away from home.

Sam Allardyce will be without Joe Cole, Mark Noble, Winston Reid and George McCartney, but Andy Carroll should return to the starting line-up after being ineligible to face his parent club last weekend.

Southampton could reach the 40 point mark this weekend and Mauricio Pochettino will be keen to maintain the Saints good run of form against the poor-travelling Hammers.

Southampton to win @1.80

Scunthorpe (3.00) v Walsall (2.50); Draw (3.40)

Play-off chasing Walsall were guilty of missing chances against Sheffield United last time out, but top scorer Will Grigg returns for the Saddlers this weekend after missing three of their last four games in League One.

Walsall are unbeaten in their last 13 games in the league and Dean Smith’s side remain just two points off a play-off place going into the weekend.

Hosts Scunthorpe have lost six of their last seven matches in League One and the Iron will need to arrest that run of form if Brian Laws’ side are to climb out of the bottom four.

Striker Akpo Sodje is out injured for this match, but it is the loss of on-loan striker Leon Clarke that has really affected the north Lincolnshire side’s form since the turn of the year.

Walsall lost the reverse fixture 4-1 at the Banks’ Stadium last time out, but the Saddlers appear the more likely victors on Saturday with Dean Smith’s side targeting an end-of-season push for the play-offs.

Walsall 0 Asian Handicap @1.750

Betting Accumulator Odds – 7.08 (a win for Southampton, four or more goals in the Reading v Liverpool match, and Walsall to avoid defeat against Scunthorpe in League One)
