Champions League Predictions – 27-28 August
Lyon and Celtic stand on the verge of elimination from the UEFA Champions League this year, with Arsenal, Zenit St Petersburg and Real Sociedad all likely to progress into the group stages of the competition.
Champions League Predictions
Basel (1.50) v Ludogorets (6.50); Draw (4.20)
Bulgarian champions Ludogorets travel to Switzerland on Tuesday eager to overturn a 4-2 deficit from the first leg, but it’s hosts Basel who are the clear favourites to progress through to the group stages.
Ludogorets found themselves 2-1 up in Razgrad last week, but goals from Mohamed Salah, Giovanni Sio and Fabian Schar overturned the tie for Murat Yakin’s side.
The Eagles have been free-scoring in A Grupa this season; scoring nine goals without reply in their last three matches, but the trip to St-Jakob Park will be a much tougher challenge for Kiril Domuschiev’s outfit.
Hosts Basel defeated Manchester United 2-1 in the group stages of the Champions League last season and the Swiss side remain difficult to beat in this competition 12 months on.
Five of Ludogorets last six games in the Champions League have gone over the 2.5 goals mark and with a total of four away goals against them, the visitors will be eager to get on the front foot as quickly as possible.
Both Teams to Score @1.83
Over 2.5 goals @1.80
